Our History

At ETC Building & Design, Inc., we specialize in designing and constructing healthcare, life sciences, commercial, and manufacturing facilities. With over 1,000 hospital tenant improvements, ground-up, and seismic retrofitting projects completed over the past 23 years, our experienced team is dedicated to delivering top-tier projects.

Founded in 2002 by Michael Essrig, ETC began with a focus on SB 1953 Seismic Compliance for California healthcare facilities. Once a “best-kept secret” in the industry, we’ve grown to become a leader in seismic retrofitting and construction. With the deadline for seismic upgrades approaching, we’ve expanded to offer services like Design-Build, Preconstruction, and Emergency Preparedness, serving clients across California and beyond.
